Banquet Setup Crew

Reports To: Banquet Captain, Food & Beverage Manager/Director
Department: Food & Beverage Services
Status: Full Time / Seasonal
Date: $19 an hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Banquet Setup Crew is responsible for the setup, tear down, cleaning, and transportation of equipment and guests for weddings, banquets, and special events at Granby Ranch. This role ensures all event spaces are prepared to exact specifications while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service. This position requires physical endurance and the ability to work at elevations between 8,000–9,500 feet in varying weather conditions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Event Setup & Breakdown:

  • Set up and tear down event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including tables, chairs, linens, tents, lighting, décor, staging, and beverage stations.
  • Reset rooms and outdoor venues efficiently for upcoming events.
  • Arrange layouts accurately based on diagrams and event specifications.

Equipment & Transportation:

  • Transport equipment, supplies, and guest items to event locations safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with transporting guests (when needed) to event sites using company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Safely operate resort vehicles and equipment for event setup (training provided).

Event Site Maintenance:

  • Ensure all event areas are clean, organized, and presentable before, during, and after events.
  • Remove trash, debris, and lost-and-found items from event spaces, hallways, restrooms, patios, decks, and parking areas.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, countertops, and trash/recycling receptacles.

Guest Service & Event Support:

  • Provide friendly, welcoming, and helpful service to all guests.
  • Assist with guest needs and directions during events.
  • Set up signage and assist with organizing parking areas when required.
  • Plan and adapt to changing conditions, including weather-related adjustments and guest safety protocols.

Teamwork & Operations:

  • Work closely with the Wedding Services Manager, Banquet Captain, and event team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Communicate any setup discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Support banquet servers, bartenders, and other departments during high-volume events and resort operations.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
  • Act as a positive, professional role model aligned with company hospitality standards.
  • Maintain exceptional guest service in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members and follow direction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • AV equipment knowledge and setup
  • Ability to read and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to safely operate a 14-passenger van and other resort vehicles.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required with ability to pass MVR check.
  • Previous banquet, event setup, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be physically capable of strenuous activity at elevations of 8,000–10,000 feet.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Dexterity required for handling equipment and tools.
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
