Job Summary:

The Paving Foreman will oversee and coordinate paving activities on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in paving operations, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Functions:

1. Results matter. Supervise and coordinate daily paving activities, including the operation of paving machinery and equipment.

2. Humility. Lead and manage a team of paving operators, laborers, and subcontractors.

3. Mastery. Review project plans and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient execution of paving tasks.

4. Focused. Conduct site inspections to monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.

5. Dedication. Ensure proper maintenance and operation of paving equipment, including performing routine inspections and addressing mechanical issues.

6. Respect and engage. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address any issues or changes in project scope.

7. Protect family and friends. Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

8. Communicate. Provide training and guidance to team members on paving techniques, safety practices, and equipment operation.

9. Focused. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and labor hours.

10. Obligated. Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications in construction or paving is a plus.

2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in paving operations required

3. Strong knowledge of paving materials, techniques, and equipment.

4. Proven leadership and team management skills.

5. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

7. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.

8. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

9. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position is located in a construction environment. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
