*$4,000 sign-on bonus for applicants who have zero seniority at CMH and who meet all other conditions for payment**

**To receive sign-on bonus, applicant must sign an offer letter by December 31, 2024, and begin working within three weeks of that acceptance. Full details of payment conditions can be obtained from Human Resources.

ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT

The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Nurse directs the pre-admission process of patients being admitted through Same Day Services (SDS). Assesses, plans, evaluates, and assembles all submitted preoperative documents and executes orders as appropriate. Coordinates all services necessary for the care of pre-admission patients including calling the surgeon, consulting physician, or anesthesia provider when appropriate. Completes preoperative phone interview that includes patient health history, pre-operative teaching, both with patient and family when applicable. Arranges for telephone or personal health history interview with Anesthesia provider, as necessary. Assures required documentation is both complete and adequate including a History and Physical, consent, orders, and testing results. Floats to Same Day Services to assist with PreOp and Recovery/discharge of Phase II patients on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Nursing principles and procedures particularly as they relate to surgical patients. Techniques of good patient care, whether medical or surgical. Must be willing to learn computer technology. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to a changing environment. Must possess assessment skills for all age groups. Must read, write and speak English.
Possess the skills and judgment to knowledgeably and appropriately act in situations that may occur. Ability to handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously. Ability to mentally prioritize. Ability to maintain a professional, low-key, pleasant and tactful affect during patient care to all those encountered.

License/Certification
• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required
• Current unencumbered Washington RN license required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Education and/or Experience
Two years of nursing experience required. Previous surgical services or acute care environment preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently, strong time management and phone etiquette, prioritization, effective communication, and high level critical thinking skills required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Works inside. Primarily seated much of the time while on duty. Subject to occasional physical and emotional stress within a fast-paced environment. Occasionally will work extended hours or variation of usual shift and will be dependent on patient requirements. Ability to lift and transfer patients is required, usually with the assistance of co-workers, but some occasional lifting without assistance. Normal to corrected vision is required. Normal or corrected hearing is necessary to distinguish differences in monitor alarms, heartbeats, and breathing. Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment. Must be willing and committed to safe management of potentially infectious diseases and the handling of toxic drug therapies. Required to use personal protective apparel. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
