Substitute Teacher at Chicanos Por La Causa – Deming, New Mexico

POSITION SUMMARY

This position, in the absence of the classroom teacher, is responsible for providing instruction and managing the learning environment of children from birth to 5-years of age. Must supervise children at all times. The position reports to the Center Manager or Lead Teacher at the location to which assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• High School diploma or GED and willing to work towards obtaining a HELPNM Substitute Certificate or attending the ECECD 45-hour early childhood course or registering for the Child Development Associate (CDA) program. Some experience working with young children is preferred.
• First Aid/CPR Certified and Food Hander’s Certification or willing to obtain within the first 6-months of employment is required.
• Health Determination/TB Skin Test and Fingerprint Background Check prior to employment
• Bilingual ability (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Driver’s License/Proof of Insurance: Maintain a current New Mexico driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and provide proof of current liability insurance meeting or exceeding State-required minimum coverages is preferred for this position.
