Job Description
As Country Maid's QA/SQF Manager, your individual mission is to lead with excellence, ensuring that every activity upholds the highest standards of food safety and quality within our food manufacturing and baking facility. You will champion compliance with regulatory and customer requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Through your expertise as SQF Practitioner, you will develop, implement, and sustain our SQF and Quality/Sanitation systems, driving innovation and excellence across our operations.
Your primary duties will include:
· Manage Quality Assurance Team: You will lead two to five QA personnel and provide indirect QA leadership to our food production and baking facility by ensuring compliance with company policies, providing coaching and training, and maintaining adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
· Oversee SQF Programs: You are responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving the SQF program, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, and SQF requirements.
· Ensure Product Quality and Safety: You will monitor production processes, conduct inspections, validate procedures, and evaluate food safety concerns to maintain compliance with all regulatory and customer standards.
· Develop and Maintain Procedures: You will create, update, and control quality documents, including product, raw material, and operational procedures, to ensure consistent standards across the organization.
· Drive Continuous Improvement: You will analyze and improve product quality, recipes, specifications, and performance, ensuring the highest standards of safety and reliability.
· Project and Financial Oversight: You will manage department budgets, provide project budget planning, and train employees on project management best practices.
· Promote Training and Compliance: You will plan and conduct training on food safety, quality standards, and process improvement while ensuring adherence to OSHA and safety regulations.
· Respond to Quality Concerns: You will investigate customer complaints, implement corrective actions, and work closely with purchasing and suppliers to maintain high-quality standards.
To be successful in this role, you must have two to seven years of practical experience in food safety or quality management in a food manufacturing facility and at least two to five years experience leading a team. You should have strong computer skills.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. You must hold or have held HACCP and SQF certifications. An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience is required.
You will utilize a variety of computer programs in this role, including Word, Excel, and email software. You will also learn SafetyChain, our QA software.
Physical requirements include the ability to walk, stand, sit, crouch, and use senses including touch, taste, smell, speak, and hear. You must be able to lift up to 60 pounds with or without accommodation. In this role, you may be required to work or spend time in the production facility up to 15% of your time.
