Job Description
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist the Head Strength and Conditioning
Coordinator in managing and supervising all sports team strength and conditioning workouts
Possess knowledge of NCAA and CIAA conference rules as they apply to training teams and individuals in
season and out
Assist in management of all strength and conditioning facilities
Facilitate learning of proper lifting, spotting and safety techniques
Participate in continuing education to keep knowledge and skills up to date
Maintain communication system and schedule with the Sports Medicine Staff members
Communicate problems, issues and program improvement ideas involving the strength and conditioning
area to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator
Assist in communicating with head coaches of sports teams regarding scheduling, athletic injuries, and
attendance
Learn and research team and individual conditioning specific training methods and activities
Collaborate with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to assess needs and plan programs for
designated sports
Design, implement and supervise programs for assigned teams, TBD.
Maintain updated documentation of the student athlete’s progress in strength and conditioning
Show respect for athletes, fellow coaches, parents, faculty, and staff
Requires a bachelor’s degree in sports, or a related field. Must demonstrate, intermediate to advanced
skills with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and Word. Excellent oral and written communication skills are
also required. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and
students from diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able to prioritize work to meet multiple
deadlines with minimal supervision.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
?? Master’s Degree in related field
?? Excellent communications and organization skills
?? Two years’ experience working with college age athletes from a strength and conditioning
perspective
?? Two years’ experience with NCAA and CIAA policies
