CAMERA & SECURITY SYSTEM INSTALLER - AUSTIN at Texas Disposal Systems – Creedmoor, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The Camera & Security System Installer is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining CCTV cameras, access control systems including access card readers for door and gate access and building alarm systems.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Install and configure security cameras, access control panels, building alarms, intercom systems, and access controls at gates and doors
2. Run and terminate cables for security systems – e.g. Cat5e, Cat6, other low voltage wiring.
3. Mount and position cameras, sensors, and other security components.
4. Program DVRs/NVRs, configure remote viewing, and integrate systems with networks.
5. Conduct site surveys and evaluate company security needs.
6. Test and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper functioning.
7. Maintains the necessary truck inventory (equipment and tools).
8. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
9. Provide ongoing service, maintenance, and system upgrades as needed.
10. Collaborate with team members and report progress to project managers or supervisors.
11. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Working knowledge of electronic security equipment (e.g., Samsung, Axis, Mercury, etc.)
• Familiarity with networking concepts and IP-based systems
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• At least two years of experience in installing security or low-voltage systems
• Completion of technical or trade school program
• Ability to operate a scissor lift, telehandler manlift, excavator, skid steer, welder and forklift

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class C driver’s license
• Safe driving for the last three years
