The Compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience,

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master s Degree in Speech Pathology
  • NJ State Licensure

Preferred:

  • ICU experience with stroke patients
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Ability to perform MBSS

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • 8:00—5:00
  • Days
  • PD

Essential Functions:

  • Administers comprehensive diagnostic evaluations
  • Identifies and assesses communication and swallowing disorders by evaluating etiology, case history, and test results
  • Counsels patients/families regarding findings, treatment goals, progress, referrals, etc
  • Interprets and offers findings to physicians, etc
  • And determines the need for additional referrals
  • Provides a thorough plan of treatment and appropriate therapy
  • Prepares clear, technically sound, accurate, and comprehensive documentation to include findings, impressions, recommendations, progress, and other patient-related concerns
  • Impiles accurate statistics, insurance forms, and charge sheets as necessary
  • Promotes interdisciplinary consultation, completes continuing education for licensure and professional growth, and provides in-service presentations as appropriate
  • Timely response to professional concerns of a non-clinical nature, i, e, telephone calls, response to student needs, and reply to correspondence
  • Carries out principles of positive patient relations
  • Provides peer review, supervises clinical fellows or student interns
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development over the life span
  • Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care
  • Assess data reflective of each patient's status and interpret information needed in order to identify each patient's age requirements relative to age-specific health care needs
