About This Position

Overview:
Located at the Cass Lake Service Unit in Minnesota, this role supports inpatient dietary services in a hospital setting. The Registered Dietitian works alongside medical and dietary staff to ensure meals meet clinical and regulatory standards, with periodic onsite visits and oversight of patient nutrition.Job Title: Registered Dietitian

Position Type: Part-Time, On-Site and On-Call
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nutritional assessments for patients within 72 hours of hospital admission

  • Ensure patients' dietary needs align with Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA)

  • Review and approve all menus, including special diets

  • Provide routine onsite visits to ensure compliance with dietary service standards

  • Certify that all meals meet professional, regulatory, and quality expectations

  • Approve menu substitutions and ensure proper documentation

  • Maintain records in compliance with IHS standards

Qualifications:

  • Active license and credentials as a Registered Dietitian

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nutrition experience, preferably in a hospital setting
