Autotransfusion Tech / Perfusion Assistant - Open Heart Surgery at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

Provides patient care through autotransfusion and other patient care services for cardiac and non-cardiac surgical procedures and such care may include, but is not limited to performance of the duties and responsibilities listed below. Acts as a resource person for Cookeville Regional Medical Center's customers and employees.

May have responsibility for, but not limited to one or more of the following Clinical Duties:
1. Autologous Blood Processing
2. Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping
3. Open Heart Support Assistance
4. Electronic Physiological Monitoring
5. Perfusion Laboratory Services/Lab Analysis Equipment
6. Assemblage and Transportation of Anesthesia transducers and monitoring equipment
7. Platelet Gel (Angel)
8. Other Clinical Services as Assigned

Employee must live within a 30 minute response time of the hospital and participate in call rotation.

Other duties as directed.

Education: High School Diploma or GED Required. Previous related medical experience or completion of related medical/science college level courses, certificate or degree is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. PBMT Certification - Preferred.

Experience: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees and organizations. Ability to speak clearly, write and understand English. Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in routine and/or emergency situations.
