About This Position

JOB SUMMARY

Working in conjunction with the Director of Rehab, the Rehab Supervisor assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care reflective of CCH mission, vision and values. He/she provides input to the planning, direction, organization and leadership in the delivery of services in the department. The Supervisor is responsible to organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part as appropriate; helping patients reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within any limits for his/her capabilities. He/she will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. The supervisor coordinates, delegates and oversees staffing and scheduling needs as well as patient care activities to meet the needs of the patient, team and community. He/she practices within the framework of their respective Wyoming State Board, the respective professional association professional standards, and National Patient Safety Goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Is responsible to coordinate, delegate, and oversee staffing and scheduling needs in the departments of physical, occupational, speech therapies to ensure minimum staffing is available for patient needs.
  • Provides patient care as needed and works scheduled hours, being flexible during times of caseload fluctuation, demonstrating fiscal responsibility, accountability, time management, and prioritization skills..
  • Collaborates intra- and inter-departmentally with development of goals and objectives.
  • Participates in development and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the hiring, training and evaluation of employees.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of the department in-service and education training.
  • Assists the CQI process, monitoring compliance with standards of clinical practice and delivery of patient care.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other health care members in communicating the plan of care and anticipated outcomes for the patient.
  • Is an effective user of EMR systems to teach and train staff, as well as assisting with build of electronic systems.
  • Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record, completing all daily notes, charges, and other paperwork per CCH policy.
  • Develops an age-appropriate plan of care, which addresses physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team, implementing this plan of care and delegating appropriately.
  • Sees all patients as scheduled and assists with other patient needs throughout the continuum if needed.
  • Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing and continuing education.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment that is conducive to high quality care.
  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • Graduate of an approved physical, occupational, or speech therapy school.
  • Licensure
    • Must be licensed in, or be eligible to be licensed, in the State of Wyoming.
  • Experience
    • Graduate from an accredited physical, occupational, or speech therapy program.
  • Certifications required
    • See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Policy and Certifications/Education Requirements Policy.
