About This Position
Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a friendly, energetic, and organized person to join our Member Services Representative team. The candidate must have an attention to detail and be able to multi-task and redirect focus with frequent phone interruptions. MainePERS is an established, professional and dynamic organization that manages a variety of employee benefits for Maine’s public sector workers.Primary responsibilities focus on quality customer service in assisting our members (State, Teacher, and Participating Local District employees) at various stages of their membership. The work entails large amounts of phone, email and in-person communication, receiving paperwork and ensuring its completeness and accuracy; processing changes; retrieving account information for members and explaining the information to them, both over the telephone and in person. In addition, the position provides operational support by processing member requests including gathering information and verifying completeness prior to forwarding the results into the workflow process. Hybrid schedule (50% remote and 50% on-site) may be approved after six month probationary period.
Minimum Qualifications:
Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4pm
40hours per week
This is a full-time, 40hr per week position. A normal workday/week is Monday-Friday; 7:30am-4pm.
After 6 months this position is eligible for a hybrid schedule if the applicant desires, resulting in a maximum of 50% remote work within a 2 week pay period and the remainder of the time in-office.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- One to two (1-2) years demonstrated successful customer service experience by phone and/or in person.
- Notary Public or ability to obtain Notary Public capabilities.
