About This Position
Summary
As an Automotive Service Advisor at Charlie's, you will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by managing service appointments and providing expert vehicle maintenance advice. This position is essential for maintaining our reputation for high-quality service and fostering long-term relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist them with service needs in a friendly, professional manner.
- Schedule service appointments and manage the workflow in the service department.
- Provide customers with detailed explanations of recommended services and repairs.
- Act as a liaison between customers and technicians to ensure clear communication regarding vehicle issues.
- Monitor the progress of vehicles in the shop and keep customers informed about their status.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and customer interactions.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on building relationships.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to customers and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
