About This Position

Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Body Shop Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining and repairing body damage to our assets, ensuring a clean and safe work environment, and adhering to industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with body repairs, welding, and the use of hand tools, along with a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure the body shop is clean, organized, and complies with all OSHA/EPA regulations and safety standards.
  • Repair Body Damage: Perform body repairs, panel replacements, and structural repairs to assets as directed by management.
  • Coordinate with Parts Department: Work closely with the Parts Department and management to ensure necessary parts are ordered and readily available for repairs.
  • Work Area Improvement: Assist in maintaining and improving the body shop work area to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Proper Use of Tools: Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and torches effectively and safely to complete repair work.
  • Prepare Work Orders: Document repairs, replacements, and services on work orders with accurate descriptions and details.
  • Equipment Movement: Move equipment around the yard and shop as needed for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • PPE Compliance: Always use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and understand its application for different tasks.
Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in body repair, maintenance, and technical repair work.

Skills:

  • Proficient in body repairs, panel replacement, and structural repairs.
  • Welding, torch, and brazing skills required.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and welding equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of proper use of PPE.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions, and move equipment around yard and shop areas.

Work Environment:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with management, parts staff, and team members.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
