Scrub Technician - Operating Room (OR) at DHA - Valley Regional Hospital – Claremont, New Hampshire

At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a surgical technologist to join our team in the surgical services department as a surgical technician.

The primary responsibility of a surgical technologist is:

• Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the surgeon's and patient's needs during a procedure
• Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medication, and assist with dressings.
• Set up a sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain a sterile field for the patient during procedures
• Assist the surgeon throughout the surgical procedure (handling instruments, holding retractors, etc.)
• Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patients and personnel

An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Certification as a surgical technologist preferred, with one-year's experience post accredited surgical technologist program.
• Exhibits professionalism at all times, understands appropriate workplace behavior/communications.
• Confidentiality is a must.

Compensation:

Min: $24.14

Max: $36.42
