What We Need:

Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager, the Senior CNC Programmer will be responsible for running the internal prototype CNC Machine shop. This includes programing, setting up, and running 3 and 5 Axis CNC mills, saws, drill presses, and other machining equipment to support a fast-paced product development environment. This person will devise and manage complex CNC set-ups independently to ensure a quality product is produced.

What You’ll Do:

  • Program, setup and run Hass 3 and 5 Axis CNC mills daily to produce small run prototype parts.
  • Work directly with the engineering design team on critical parts and the fixtures required for machining them.
  • Oversee the maintenance schedule of the machine shop and work with external vendors as needed for preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Work with external vendors to order the material and tooling needed to complete parts.
  • Measure parts to ensure critical features meet required specifications.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering & 5+yrs exp in CNC Programming and operation, OR HS Diploma and Vocational Training & 10+yrs exp in CNC Programming and operation.
  • Strong skills in CNC programming and machine operation.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, particularly in MasterCAM and a familiarity with G-Code.
  • Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
    • Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools / gauges and cutting tools.
    • Ability to read blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
    • Ability to determine cutter speeds and feeds for basic materials.
    • Able to properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
    • Good communication and basic math skills.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Solidworks.
  • Direct experience with 5-Axis HAAS UMC machines.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    1. Frequently lift to 50 lbs.
    2. Stand up to 5 hours at a time.

Salary Range - $95,000 - $115,000 (Based on experience) - The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
