JOB SUMMARY
-
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) assists with and supports the basic care of patients of all ages in accordance with Wyoming State Board of Nursing rules and regulations pertaining to this position. CNAs provided this basic nursing tasks and skills as delegated and under the direction by a licensed nurse (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse). The CNA will work in a variety of settings wherever there is a licensed nurse to oversight or delegate care to. These may include clinics, outpatient, ambulatory, hospital based or others. The CNA can perform clerical and receptionist duties per organizational standards. The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living, basic nursing and limited patient data collection, placing patients in patient care rooms, assisting with patient ambulation and activity needs, and supporting other members of the healthcare team in the delivery of care to the patient with the scope of the education and role. The CNA is critical in keeping the patient environment safe, organized and functional.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required and completion of Nursing Assistant Program. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in good standing through the Wyoming State Board of Nursing. Requirements for BLS will be as described in hospital policy.

Job Knowledge and Skills:-
Has knowledge of basic medical terminology used in the clinical area. Basic knowledge of activities of daily living and adapts knowledge to clinical area. Able to provide basic care to patients of all ages. Must be able to adapt to workload of a variety of settings. Must be proficient in the operation of a personal computer. Familiar with use and operational functions of medical and office equipment commonly used in their role as a CNA.
