Job Description
We are seeking a caring, patient, and dependable Two-Year-Old Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. The teacher will support each child’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities, consistent routines, and positive interactions.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate lessons, play experiences, art projects, music, movement, and sensory activities.
- Maintain a warm, welcoming, and well-organized classroom.
- Provide attentive supervision and ensure children’s safety at all times.
- Support children with toileting, diapering, handwashing, meals, rest periods, and other daily care routines.
- Encourage language development, independence, sharing, cooperation, and positive social skills.
- Use positive guidance techniques to manage behavior and help children express their emotions appropriately.
- Observe and document each child’s development, progress, and individual needs.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families about classroom activities and their child’s day.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, meal, and developmental records.
- Clean and sanitize classroom materials, toys, equipment, and changing areas.
- Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers, administrators, and other staff members.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
- Protect the privacy and confidentiality of children and families.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Early childhood education coursework, Child Development Associate credential, or related degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or preschool setting preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to meet all state licensing, background-check, and training requirements.
- Knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate classroom practices.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Patient, dependable, energetic, and compassionate.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young children and their families.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, stand, and move quickly when needed.
- Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to perform diapering, toileting, feeding, cleaning, and other caregiving responsibilities.
This is a [full-time] position. M-F with occasional staff meetings, training sessions, or special events outside regular classroom hours.
Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $14-$17.50 based on experience and qualifications
