Job Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Seattle, Denver, or Miami metro area, with an expectation of working from the local Housing Connector office at least one day per week.

About Housing Connector

Housing Connector is a nonprofit organization working to reduce barriers to housing access and increase housing stability for individuals and families. We partner with property owners, housing providers, and community-based organizations to make it easier for people facing barriers to secure and maintain stable housing.

Through strong cross-sector partnerships, clear processes, and technology-enabled tools, we help communities connect more people to housing more quickly and sustainably. Our work is rooted in collaboration, accountability, and a belief that systems work better when partners are aligned around shared outcomes.

About the Role

The Project Coordinator provides project management and coordination support for a portfolio of high-priority initiatives involving external partners, funders, and internal teams. Working closely with the VP of Investments & Partneships, this person turns priorities and deadlines into clear plans, coordinates contributions across teams, and makes sure important work moves forward accurately and on time.

We're looking for someone with strong project coordination experience who knows how to bring structure to complex work, communicate effectively with different stakeholders, and manage details without losing sight of the people and relationships involved.

The right person is highly organized, confident, thoughtful, and comfortable working with senior leaders and high-profile external stakeholders. They anticipate what is needed, understand when and how to follow up, and exercise good judgment about communication, relationships, and priorities.

What You'll Do

Project & Workflow Coordination

  • Build and manage project plans, workback schedules, milestones, and deadlines for funding initiatives and other priorities.
  • Coordinate work across teams, clarify responsibilities, track progress, and proactively follow up to keep deliverables on schedule.
  • Use Asana and other tools to maintain visibility into priorities, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Identify potential gaps or delays and work with stakeholders to keep projects moving.

Proposals, RFPs & Reporting

  • Coordinate RFP and funding proposal processes from initial requirements through final submission.
  • Organize inputs from multiple contributors and support the development of clear, complete proposal materials.
  • Maintain grant reporting calendars and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions with the Grant Accountant and other stakeholders.
  • Track funder and government requirements to help ensure deadlines, documentation, and submission requirements are met.

Funder & Executive Support

  • Coordinate funder and external partner meetings for executives and regional leaders, including scheduling, agendas, pre-reads, briefing materials, and follow-up.
  • Support stewardship activities and draft executive correspondence and other materials for review.
  • Maintain awareness of stakeholder relationships, priorities, and sensitivities when coordinating external engagement.

Communications & Event Coordination

  • Partner with Marketing & Communications to coordinate funder-facing communications, stewardship outreach, and donor acknowledgments.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and internal preparation for executive speaking engagements and funder-related events.
  • Ensure communications, materials, stakeholders, and timelines are aligned and ready for external engagements.

What You'll Bring

  • 2–4 years of experience coordinating projects, programs, operations, client work, or other complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience creating project plans and workback schedules and managing work against deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to turn information from multiple sources into clear, concise materials.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including confidence interacting with senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong situational awareness. You understand that how and when you communicate can matter as much as what you communicate.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize when something requires follow-up, escalation, discretion, or a different approach.
  • Confidence following up with colleagues at all levels to keep work moving while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Strong technology skills and comfort using project management, CRM, and collaboration tools, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and use technology to organize information, track work, and improve workflows.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar subject matter quickly and translate requirements into organized, actionable work.
  • Experience working across multiple teams or functions in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Openness to learning and using AI to improve efficiency, organization, and quality of work.
  • Lived experience with housing instability or homelessness, which we value as an additional perspective that can strengthen connection to our mission.

You do not need previous fundraising, grant writing, or development experience to be successful in this role.
