Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator supports the Edwardsville YMCA's mission through marketing, communication, and community engagement initiatives that strengthen awareness, increase participation, and advance organizational goals. This position develops and distributes content across multiple platforms, promotes YMCA programs and events, supports fundraising and partnership initiatives, and shares the impact of the YMCA throughout the community. The Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening community relationships, enhancing organizational visibility, and advancing membership, engagement, and brand awareness efforts. Essential Functions:
- Support the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies that promote YMCA programs, services, events, fundraising initiatives, sponsorship opportunities, and community impact.
- Create and manage content for social media, email marketing, digital advertising, websites, and other communication channels while maintaining YMCA brand standards.
- Design and produce marketing materials, including graphics, flyers, brochures, presentations, videos, and other promotional assets.
- Capture and share photography, video, member success stories, staff highlights, and community impact stories that strengthen engagement and showcase the YMCA mission.
- Maintain a content calendar to support consistent communication and marketing efforts across all platforms.
- Represent the YMCA at community events, outreach opportunities, fairs, and partnership activities to strengthen community relationships and increase organizational visibility.
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with local businesses, schools, healthcare organizations, nonprofits, sponsors, and community partners while supporting partnership and sponsorship initiatives.
- Monitor marketing trends and emerging opportunities to improve engagement, visibility, and communication effectiveness.
- Track and report key marketing metrics, including social media performance, email engagement, website traffic, and campaign effectiveness, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support member engagement, retention, and participation initiatives through effective communication and promotional campaigns.
- Contribute to strategic planning discussions, long-term marketing initiatives, and organizational goals through collaboration, innovation, and data-informed decision making.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Business, or related field preferred.
- One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation, community engagement, or a related field preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
- Photography, videography, and graphic design experience preferred.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms preferred.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms and website content management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people and build positive relationships.
- Strong judgment, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for events and organizational activities.
