Psychiatrist FT - Crisis Care Centers in Detroit, Michigan at DETROIT WAYNE Integrated HEALTH Network

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Psychiatrist will perform clinical duties and activities as directed, covering the continuum of intensive crisis stabilization services (ICSS) including Crisis Stabilization Unit, Behavioral Health Urgent Care, and Mobile Crisis Services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Flexibility in scheduling. The standard schedule is generally during daytime hours, with alternative scheduling options available, including longer shifts, as mutually agreed upon in alignment with clinical and program needs.
• Flexibility to incorporate work across a variety of clinical settings within the organization based on the psychiatrist’s interests and preferences, in alignment with program needs.
• Provides direct clinical/patient care duties and responsibilities as required, including psychiatric evaluation, re-evaluation, disposition, coordination of medical services with nurse on duty, medication orders/prescribing, restraint orders, monitoring patients, etc.

• Provides supervision and direction to the mobile crisis team.

• Reviews Eligibility assessments for members contacting the Crisis Care Center.

• Provides clinical coverage and consultation on any urgent clinical issue that may arise between the time that members contact the Crisis Care Center and/or Mobile Crisis Team and until they are seen by our Clinically Responsible Service Providers.
• Attends shift handover meetings.
• Participates in on-call weekend coverage rotation as indicated.
• Understands and adheres to DWIHN compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per federal guidelines and DWIHN policy and procedures.
• Identifies and timely reports any health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.
• Performs any additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine.

Board Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

NOTE: Additional Board Certification in Addiction Psychiatry and/or Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of professional experience in the treat­ment of behavioral health problems.

REQUIRED LICENSES:

• A valid and current Michigan License to practice as a physician.
• A valid and current Michigan controlled substance license.
• A valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency Registration.
• A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is usually performed at the Crisis Care Center but may require the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan.
