Job Description

This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of integrated brand marketing initiatives that strengthen brand equity, drive traffic and sales, and bring the Jack in the Box brand strategy to life across all consumer touchpoints. This role partners closely with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Strategic Insights, Creative Services, Media, and agency partners to develop breakthrough campaigns, launch new products and promotions, and ensure a consistent, distinctive brand experience. Acts as a steward of the Jack in the Box brand, translating strategy into actionable marketing plans, briefs, campaigns, and programs that resonate with consumers and deliver measurable business results.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Brand Strategy & Planning

Leads the development of annual and quarterly brand marketing plans that support business objectives, drive customer engagement, and strengthen brand relevance.

Partners with respective VP to translate brand positioning into actionable marketing strategies and communications plans.

Maintains a deep understanding of consumer behavior, category dynamics, cultural trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.

Supports the development of campaign strategies, messaging frameworks, and integrated marketing programs.

Helps define key success metrics and evaluates performance against established objectives.

Integrated Campaign Development & Execution

Leads the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels.

Develops comprehensive campaign briefs and manages the end-to-end process from strategy through execution and post-analysis.

Partners closely with Media, Social, Public Relations, Influencer, CRM, and Digital teams to ensure cohesive, omnichannel execution.

Oversees campaign calendars and ensures marketing initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and with operational excellence.

Supports seasonal, promotional, menu innovation, and brand-building initiatives throughout the year.

Agency Leadership & Creative Development

Serves as day-to-day lead for agency partners, providing strategic direction, clear feedback, and effective project management.

Collaborates with agency partners on creative development, campaign ideation, production, and execution.

Evaluates creative concepts, messaging, and communications materials to ensure alignment with brand strategy and business objectives.

Ensures all creative work reflects Jack in the Box's distinct brand voice, personality, and standards.

Supports production processes including photo shoots, content creation, broadcast production, social content development, and related brand assets.

Product Launch & Commercialization Support

Partners closely with Product Marketing teams to develop launch strategies and marketing support plans for menu innovation and promotional initiatives.

Ensures product launches are supported by clear consumer insights, compelling communication strategies, and effective activation plans.

Coordinates cross-functional efforts to ensure alignment across marketing, operations, culinary, supply chain, and franchise stakeholders.

Supports go-to-market planning and execution for key brand initiatives.

Brand Stewardship & Governance

Partners closely with Product Marketing and Culinary teams to establish innovation priorities and platform strategies.

Acts as a guardian of the Jack in the Box brand, ensuring consistency across marketing communications, consumer experiences, and creative expression.

Reviews marketing materials, campaigns, and partner deliverables for adherence to brand standards and guidelines.

Helps evolve and maintain brand assets, messaging frameworks, and communication principles.

Identifies opportunities to strengthen brand distinctiveness and consumer relevance.

Performance Management & Optimization

Monitors campaign performance and business results, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.

Partners with Strategic Insights and Marketing Analytics teams to evaluate effectiveness and ROI.

Leverages research, consumer learning, and performance data to continuously improve future marketing initiatives.

Supports annual marketing planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, Communications, or related field required. MBA preferred.

Experience – 8+ years of progressive experience in brand management, consumer marketing, advertising, or integrated marketing. Experience in Restaurant, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, Hospitality, or other consumer-facing industries preferred. Multi-unit and franchise experience highly desired.

Strong understanding of consumer behavior, marketing fundamentals, and brand-building principles.

Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Strong written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across the organization.

Proficient knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Word, Excel).

Physical Requirements – Ability to work from the corporate office located in San Diego 4 days/week. Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard. Ability to travel approximately 20-25% of time as business needs require.

The range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we may apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
