Job Description
Position Objective
The HVAC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing HVAC installation, troubleshooting, and repair activities within the modular manufacturing process. This position provides day-to-day leadership to HVAC personnel, coordinates work to support production schedules, and ensures HVAC systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, codes, and company quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and provide day-to-day direction to HVAC Technicians and other assigned personnel
- Plan, prioritize, and assign HVAC work based on production schedules, project requirements, and departmental priorities
- Monitor employee productivity, workmanship, attendance, and adherence to established procedures and expectations
- Train, coach, and develop employees on HVAC installation methods, equipment, safety requirements, and company standards
- Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems and related equipment
- Ensure HVAC equipment and systems are properly installed and inspected for operation, safety, efficiency, and code compliance
- Oversee the installation and connection of ductwork, refrigerant lines, condensate drains, thermostats, controls, and related components
- Coordinate HVAC installation and commissioning of mechanical systems within modular units throughout the manufacturing process
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, HVAC plans, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and specifications to ensure work is completed according to project requirements
- Inspect completed work and identify and resolve quality or installation issues before units advance through production
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and provide technical guidance to employees as needed
- Coordinate with production leadership, Quality, Engineering, and other trades to resolve issues and maintain production flow
- Monitor material, equipment, and tool needs and communicate shortages or requirements that could impact production
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition
- Promote and enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable mechanical/HVAC codes
- Participate in employee performance management, including providing feedback and addressing performance or conduct concerns in coordination with management and Human Resources
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and HVAC processes
- Perform HVAC installation, troubleshooting, and repair work as needed to support production
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HVAC experience
- Prior supervisory, lead, or crew leadership experience preferred
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, installation practices, controls, and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, HVAC plans, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and specifications
- Knowledge of applicable HVAC/mechanical codes, safety requirements, and industry practices
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Trade school, HVAC certification, or other relevant technical certification preferred
- This position is primarily based in a commercial modular manufacturing plant and may involve working in active production areas, partially completed modular units, mechanical rooms, warehouse areas, and outdoor locations. The Supervisor may be exposed to noise, dust, temperature variations, moving equipment, and construction-related activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods; lift and carry HVAC components, tools, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; and work from ladders, lifts, elevated platforms, and in confined or restricted spaces.
- Ability to regularly move throughout production areas to supervise employees, inspect work, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate HVAC activities.
- Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all applicable safety requirements.
