POSITION DETAILS
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining our production equipment, machinery, building, and grounds to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with experience in both facility maintenance and industrial equipment repair. This role also coordinates with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, services, and equipment purchases.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues on production equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Maintain the facility, including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, doors, docks, offices, warehouse areas, and general building infrastructure.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and facilities to identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with outside vendors, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, machine service technicians, and other specialists.
- Obtain quotes and order machinery, replacement parts, maintenance supplies, and repair materials as needed.
- Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of new machinery and production equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain an organized maintenance shop and manage spare parts inventory.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Perform general maintenance and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school, trade certification, or equivalent maintenance experience preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience repairing industrial machinery.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to coordinate projects and communicate effectively with outside vendors and service providers.
- Experience sourcing and ordering machine parts, maintenance supplies, and replacement equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Computer skills sufficient to maintain maintenance records and order supplies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The essential functions of this position frequently require the team member to use hands or fingers to lift, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots.
