Summary: The Field Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating commercial construction projects from pre-construction through project completion. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards and client expectations. The Field Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while providing leadership and oversight throughout all phases of construction. This position may require travel to project sites as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing commercial projects including office buildings, retail, healthcare, educational, hospitality, municipal, or mixed-use developments.
  • OSHA 30 certification or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, permitting requirements, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of commercial construction projects from project startup through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and material usage to ensure company profitability.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents.
  • Identify project risks, resolve field issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules.
  • Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, and progress updates.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, subcontractors, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations through regular inspections, meetings, and jobsite audits.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to field personnel to foster accountability and teamwork.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and provide regular updates regarding project status, milestones, and potential concerns.

Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills are essential for coordinating commercial construction activities and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules allows the Field Project Manager to effectively manage field operations and subcontractor performance. Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation processes supports accurate reporting, scheduling, cost tracking, and communication. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities enable successful collaboration with clients, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors while maintaining project quality and customer satisfaction.
