Community Outreach Specialist in San Antonio, TX 78229, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position serves as the link between community, volunteer network members program coordinators, collaborating organizations and UH departments. Coordinates and participates in special community events, education, preventive and wellness programs. Implements health education programs coordinated by the Community Initiatives and Population Health department. Provides information and education to the community at large and participated in public health events and outreach activities. Acts as a liaison between patients and supporting services to provide program information and help schedule appointments. Promotes University Health System programs and identifies areas for collaboration.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two years of college and two years of experience in conducting community-based outreach and education programs preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
A valid Texas State DL operator's license "Class C" and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
