This role is designed for a highly accountable finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility environments where precision and speed are equally critical. You will act as the financial backbone for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate, timely, and decision-ready financial reporting. The position requires strong command over accounting operations, close processes, and financial controls, with direct exposure to client leadership and fractional CFOs. You will be responsible not only for maintaining financial integrity but also for improving systems, driving automation, and elevating accounting functions into strategic business enablers. The environment is demanding, detail-oriented, and highly client-facing, requiring confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of urgency. This is a role for someone who takes full ownership of outcomes and consistently raises operational standards.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Serve as the primary financial point of contact for a portfolio of clients, providing insights and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Manage and mentor accounting teams, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and operational consistency.
- Review and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards and enforce strong internal controls.
- Manage core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and workflow optimization across accounting operations.
- Lead or support financial system implementations (e.g., SAGE Intacct, QuickBooks Online) and ensure effective integration.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to ensure financial accuracy supports strategic decision-making.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or client-facing role.
- Strong expertise in GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously in high-pressure environments.
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online and SAGE Intacct (implementation experience is a plus).
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools.
- Strong project management experience in financial operations or system implementations.
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote, client-facing environment with high responsiveness.
- Competitive compensation within the stated range ($39k–$67.4k/year).
