Job Description
MDVIP: Transforming Primary Care, One Patient at a Time
MDVIP is a national concierge medicine network with 1,300+ physicians across 45 states. Our model gives patients a primary care doctor with genuine time: smaller panels, same-day appointments, and preventive care that doesn’t get squeezed out of a 7-minute visit. The people who find us are often actively searching for a better healthcare experience.
We’re building a content program that earns trust, ranks well, and converts high-intent visitors into members. This is not a volume play. We publish fewer pieces than most comparable organizations, and we hold every piece to a high bar.
Role Summary
You’ll own content strategy, production, and editorial quality for MDVIP’s organic growth program. That means the full cycle: research, briefing, writing, editing, publishing, and measuring whether it worked.
This is a healthcare content role. Everything we publish is YMYL. Accuracy is non-negotiable, E-E-A-T is a real constraint (not an SEO buzzword), and you’ll be working with physician contributors who need to be comfortable putting their name on what we publish.
You’ll work closely with the SEO Manager on keyword strategy and search intent, with the Director of Web Product on content templates and IA, and directly with physicians for expert review and contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the editorial calendar: what we publish, why, and when
- Write and edit long-form content for physician, patient, and employer audiences
- Brief and manage freelance writers and physician contributors
- Collaborate with SEO on keyword research, search intent, and content gap analysis
- Manage the content production workflow from brief to publish, including editorial review and fact-checking
- Build and maintain internal style guides and E-E-A-T standards for the MDVIP brand
- Track content performance and report on what’s driving organic sessions, engagement, and downstream conversions
- Support physician recruitment content, patient education, and employer-facing materials as needed
Key Competencies
- Editorial judgment: knows when a piece is ready, when it isn’t, and when to kill it
- Healthcare accuracy: holds the YMYL bar without being managed to it
- SEO fluency: works alongside the SEO Manager without needing everything translated
- Outcome orientation: measures success in member enrollment impact, not publishing volume
- Collaboration: builds productive relationships with physicians, freelancers, and cross-functional partners
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years in content strategy or editorial, with a portfolio of long-form, research-backed writing
- Healthcare, medical, or another YMYL category in your background: you know what it means to get it wrong
- Enough SEO fluency to work alongside an SEO Manager: search intent, content briefs tied to keywords, indexable quality
- Strong editing skills: you can take a physician’s contribution and make it publish-ready without losing their voice
- Demonstrated ability to tie content performance to business outcomes, not just page views
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing physician or clinical contributor programs
- Familiarity with E-E-A-T frameworks and how Google evaluates health content
- Experience with AI search and what makes content perform in LLM-generated answers
- Background in employer benefits, wellness, or concierge/executive health
