Metadata & Data Governance Sr. Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Metadata & Data Governance Sr. Analyst based in the United States.

This role plays a key part in strengthening enterprise data governance and knowledge management practices across digital platforms and content systems.
You will ensure metadata standards are consistently applied across document management environments and related data repositories.
The position contributes directly to improving data quality, discoverability, and usability for analytics and AI-driven initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with data owners, stewards, and cross-functional stakeholders to enforce governance standards.
The role also supports audit activities, remediation of data issues, and continuous improvement of governance workflows.
It sits at the intersection of data governance, knowledge management, and AI readiness, with strong exposure to modern digital tools.
This is a highly impactful role focused on enabling reliable, structured, and AI-ready information ecosystems.

Accountabilities:

Support the execution of metadata governance and data quality practices across document management and knowledge systems:

  • Apply metadata standards, naming conventions, and structured content classification across platforms such as document management systems.
  • Conduct routine metadata audits, identify inconsistencies, and escalate issues to governance leads and product owners.
  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to support implementation of data minimum standards and compliance tracking.
  • Monitor governance adherence and assist in remediation of data quality and consistency issues.
  • Support AI and analytics readiness by ensuring content is properly structured and aligned with ingestion requirements.
  • Manage external research acquisition processes, including content sourcing, ingestion, and vendor coordination.
  • Administer and improve document governance workflows, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and user adoption.
  • Provide user support, training, and guidance to promote best practices in metadata and data governance.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings experience in data governance, content management, or knowledge management, along with strong analytical and communication skills:

  • 3–5 years of experience in data governance, content management, knowledge management, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with document management systems, data platforms, or similar digital environments.
  • Strong understanding of metadata structures, data classification, and governance principles.
  • Ability to identify and resolve data/content issues using structured analysis and process-driven approaches.
  • Familiarity with data quality concepts and AI/analytics readiness requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support and train cross-functional users.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to defined governance frameworks and standards.
  • Preferred: experience in scientific, R&D, or technical environments, and exposure to AI/data-driven initiatives.
