Job Description
VP of Clinical Operations
$85,000 - $135,000 a year
The VP of Clinical Operations leads clinical operations at Carelinks ABA and is the day-to-day support system for our BCBAs. This person manages and mentors the BCBA team, oversees caseloads and clinical quality, steps in on escalations, and works to defuse conflict before it grows. Success looks like BCBAs who feel backed by their leadership, clients who keep progressing toward mastery, and a clinic that holds firm ethical and fidelity standards.
Core Responsibilities Clinical Escalation & Leadership
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-acuity clinical situations; provide direct guidance and decision-making support to clinical staff.
- Report on clinical KPIs to executive leadership.
BCBA Management, Caseload & Onboarding
- Manage and mentor BCBAs through supervision, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Serve as an accessible, trusted point of contact for BCBAs — defusing conflict and clearing obstacles so they can focus on client care.
- Monitor and balance BCBA caseloads and utilization; rebalance proactively as staffing changes and census shift.
- Own new-BCBA onboarding, from orientation and the ramp-up schedule through structured early check-ins.
Clinical Quality, Outcomes & Ethics
- Monitor clinical quality indicators in coordination with utilization, plus outcome measurements and fidelity systems.
- Proactively identify clients not progressing toward mastery and ensure BCBAs adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Lead recurring ethics topic reviews and ensure compliance with BACB ethical guidelines.
- Oversee QA data, including Note Guard documentation compliance and client progress review.
Training Oversight
- Oversee BT/RBT onboarding and the training department; retain oversight of broader training initiatives even where day-to-day organizing sits with a training lead.
- Current BCBA certification in good standing.
- 5+ years of clinical ABA experience, including 2+ years in clinical leadership.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing BCBAs, caseloads, and utilization.
- Strong knowledge of BACB ethics guidelines and clinical fidelity standards.
- Experience with outcome measurement and QA/data systems (e.g., CentralReach Note Guard).
We are looking for a clinician who leads through relationships rather than hierarchy, and who knows that genuine support and genuine accountability go hand in hand. BCBAs should feel they can bring a hard case or a frustration to this person and be met with steadiness, fairness, and a plan — while also expecting to be challenged and pushed to grow. Someone who reads the room and handles disagreement without ego, but who names hard truths directly rather than letting things slide. Above all, a leader people are glad to work for: kind and respectful, and unwilling to let anyone settle for less than their best.
