About the Role:
As a Cashier in the accommodation and food services industry, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process. Your role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction by providing friendly, accurate, and timely service at the point of sale. You will handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while maintaining the integrity of the cash register and adhering to company policies. Additionally, you will support the overall cleanliness and organization of the work environment, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Your ability to work a flexible schedule and manage repetitive tasks with attention to detail will directly impact the operational success of the establishment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the accommodation or food services industry.
- Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems and cash register operations.
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Operate cash registers and handle all customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and perform janitorial duties as needed.
- Assist with lifting and carrying heavy items to support stock replenishment and store organization.
- Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Adhere to company policies regarding cash handling, security, and safety procedures.
- Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.
