Reporting directly to Warehouse Manager we are currently seeking a Receiving Clerk I for our Day Shift to be based at our Centralia, IL facility.

Job Description

Work Schedule: Day Shift - Every other Friday off. 6:00a - 3:30p
Position Summary: Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming material and supplies. Uses Epicor and packing slips to verify the accuracy of incoming shipments. Documents damages and discrepancies for reconciliation and reimbursement.

Receiving Process
1. Receives materials coming into warehouse/facility accurately and promptly.
2. Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking materials received against packing list, bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records; keeps records of goods received to match Epicor and vendor packing slips; forwards all packing slips to purchasing
3. Operate a forklift to move or hoist shipments from the shipping/receiving area to storage areas or from shipping/receiving area to trucks.
4. Ensure all received materials have been properly tagged and identified.
5. Tag all inbound materials that could not be received through the standard practice and initiate the process of identifying those items by working with buyers.
6. Assist in maintaining an accurate job traveler by signing off materials in the traveler as they are put away into carts or shelves.
7. Maintain accurate inventory by performing inventory transactions for materials that are checked out by personnel.
8. Assist in performing cycle counts and assist with inventory maintenance
Damage Claims and Non Conformance
9. Understands how to check for damaged goods; especially for frequently damaged or fragile materials such as transformers or hvacs.
10. Handles basic claims with freight companies and vendors, and is able to assist on more complicated damage claims.
Professional Communication
11. Assist Accounts Payable to ensure accuracy of packing slip & Epicor receipt entry when AP does triple match (PO to Receipt to Invoice).
12. Assist floor leads and PM’s to locate material in the warehouse as necessary.
13. Shares key receiving information promptly with appropriate PM’s or department heads to ensure coordination of receiving warehouse activities with production schedules for expedited or other important materials.
Organization and Lean Principles
14. Keep receiving area clean and tidy by putting away received materials, cleaning off carts at the end of the day, accounting for all loose documents and tagging non-receivable items.
15. Ensures items are stored in an orderly and accessible manner
16. Seeks ways to improve efficiency while maximizing accuracy by fully utilizing available resources and actively seeking to improve performance
Tools and Equipment
17. Safe use of overhead cranes, forklifts, and hoists, to assist in moving, unloading, and loading material
18. Operate misc. hand tools.
19. Properly care for and maintain tools in good operating condition; ensure tools and equipment is properly stored at the end of each shift.

Requirements:Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or at least two years shipping and receiving experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read and understand English to interpret shipping and receiving documents – invoices, bills of lading, manifests, etc. comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write English legibly for simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Math Ability: Ability to accurately count accurately, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, calculate shipping and freight costs; discounts, fees, etc.
Customer Service Skills:
Ability to work effectively with multiple floor leads, project managers, and vendors and develop lasting rapport. Ability to address vendor issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Good PC skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Outlook, EPICOR and other specialized inventory-tracking applications/software
