Summary

The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all centers in their designated area.

Specific Duties of the Job

  1. Plans, designs, monitors, manages, and evaluates the service delivery of all Head Start and Early Head Start components in compliance with applicable regulations.
  2. Directs and supervises center staff, providing leadership, training, monitoring, and assistance for effective, efficient service delivery.
  3. Manages, supervises, trains, and monitors documentation, record-keeping, and reporting requirements.
  4. Enters purchase requisitions for center supplies and food; submits invoices and receipts for payment.
  5. Provides leadership and volunteer opportunities for parents and the community.
  6. Assists within classrooms and with food service as needed.
  7. Serves as an advocate for Head Start families.
  8. Ensures effective communication and cooperation between the center and community agencies.
  9. Keeps parents informed through letters, newsletters, home visits, and telephone calls.
  10. Eats meals with children when possible.
  11. Recruits children for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
  12. Creates and maintains relationships with local agencies, organizations, public officials, and local government.
  13. Attends and participates in relevant meetings, workgroups, training, and conferences.
  14. Works to obtain volunteer and in-kind contributions for the agency.
  15. Complies with all applicable agency policies, Head Start Performance Standards, and Early Childhood Standards.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience Qualifications

Education: AA/AS or BA/BS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a relevant field
Experience:

  • 4 years' experience administering an early care and/or education program (AA/AS)
  • 2 years' experience administering an early care and/or education program (BA/BS)
