Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of multiple entities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and the ability to manage accounting, payroll, HR oversight, reporting, analytics, and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, extensive QuickBooks experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record managing complex financial operations, improving processes, and leading accounting teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; Finance or related field considered
- Required experience with QuickBooks
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience managing payroll, HR functions, and multiple legal entities
- Strong reporting, analytical, and financial modeling skills
- Experience with year-over-year analysis, ROI analysis, P&L trend analysis, and financial projections
- Experience creating, improving, and documenting accounting and operational processes
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to supervise staff and work in a fast-paced, cash-intensive environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Oversee all financial transactions, approvals, and internal controls across multiple entities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and complete monthly financial close.
- Reconcile more than 28 bank and credit card accounts.
- Maintain accuracy for over 40,000 financial transactions annually.
- Process and approve payroll and commission payments.
- Manage intercompany transactions and settlements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting, and general ledger accuracy.
- Perform bookkeeping as needed to support and correct accounting staff.
- Prepare financial reporting and analytics for management review.
- Perform year-over-year analysis and identify trends in the P&L.
- Prepare monthly ROI analysis for various projects and initiatives.
- Assist with projecting K-1 statements and related financial reporting needs.
- Analyze financial results and provide insight into variances, trends, and operational performance.
Human Resources Leadership
- Supervise the HR Administrator and oversee core HR functions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Coordinate onboarding, terminations, benefits administration, and personnel records.
- Address employee relations and performance matters with professionalism.
- Lead HR initiatives and ensure timely execution.
Team Leadership
- Directly supervise three employees.
- Provide coaching, accountability, and quality control.
- Support daily workflows in a high-volume, cash-handling environment.
- Serve as backup for cash reconciliation, collections, deposits, and money room operations.
Operations, Process Improvement & Vendor Management
- Manage payroll budgets and expense planning.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers regarding employee benefits and costs.
- Prepare and issue commission and vendor payments.
- Collaborate with department leaders to improve operational efficiency and accounting processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve accuracy.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative processes.
- Draft SOPs and process documentation to support consistency, training, and accountability.

This person should be able to identify trends, improve processes, automate workflows, create clear SOPs, and provide meaningful reporting to support business decisions.
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. Candidates will be asked to provide salary expectations during the interview process.
