Job Description
Job Summary: Reports to production manager and supervisors. Responsibilities include:
Completes food prep assignments each day to assure quality and timeliness of meal service. Assist cooks in preparing all foods according to recipes and production guidelines for meal service. Assists cooks with checking inventory supplies and food items that are needed for the day. Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and FIFO standards. Communicate effectively and interact with patients, families, visitors of all groups and staff. Attend regular team and training meetings to stay updated with policies, procedures and recipes changes. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including all equipment, pots and pans and work surfaces. Complete assignments as assigned by supervisors. Willingness to to assist in other areas of the dept.
Performance Exceptations:
Demostrate skills to complete all prep assignments for the shift.
Demostrate ability to read and follow recipes.
Demostrate to work in cold and hot environment.
Demostrate proper use of all equipment in production.
Demonstrate completeion of all cleaning duties and maintain a clean work area.
Demostrate proper dating and rotation of food supplies.
Demostrate proper cooking methods and assuring control of food cost and waste.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Good reading and writing skill, knowledge of addition, subtraction and simple fractions required.
Work Experience:
Previous food service work preferred, on the job training will be provided.
