We are currently seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) who enjoys working with children and wants to become an important part of a growing pediatric dental practice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new office from the beginning and grow professionally as the practice expands.

Position Overview
The Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the doctor in delivering high-quality pediatric dental care while helping create a safe, comfortable, and low-stress environment for our patients. The Dental Assistant will support clinical procedures, educate patients and parents, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Active Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of one year of dental assisting experience preferred
- Pediatric dental experience preferred but not required
- Nitrous monitoring certification preferred
- Coronal polishing and sealant certification preferred
- Comfortable working with children of all ages and developmental needs
- Excellent communication skills with both children and parents
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
Responsibilities
Clinical Patient Care
- Prepare operatories and treatment rooms prior to patient arrival
- Seat patients and ensure they are comfortable and prepared for treatment
- Provide excellent patient care while maintaining a calm and positive environment
- Assist the doctor chairside during pediatric dental procedures
- Comfort and encourage children throughout their appointments
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
Clinical Support
- Maintain proper inventory and stocking of treatment rooms
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards
- Prepare materials and instruments needed for procedures
- Assist with restorative treatment, extractions, stainless steel crowns, sealants, and emergency care
- Follow all OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and office safety protocols
Radiographs and Documentation
- Take high-quality diagnostic radiographs while minimizing retakes and radiation exposure
- Accurately document patient treatment notes and clinical information
- Ensure medical histories, consents, prescriptions, and referrals are completed appropriately
- Assist with obtaining and maintaining outside records and medical clearances when necessary
- Ensure treatment plans and procedure codes are accurately documented
- Assist in maintaining accurate charges and clinical documentation
- Collaborate with front office team members to ensure a seamless patient experience
