As a Utility Millwright & Rig Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping our equipment operating safely and efficiently while helping build, maintain, and improve the specialized systems our field teams rely on every day.

What You'll DoIn this role, you'll support the construction, maintenance, repair, and improvement of SDMyers' engineered products, field service equipment, and facility systems. You'll work alongside experienced technicians while developing skills that may eventually lead to field service opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and field service equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems
- Build, assemble, test, and install SDMyers proprietary equipment and engineered products
- Assist with construction of new equipment and mechanical systems
- Learn and support proprietary equipment including:
- G1 Systems
- Sample Safe
- CoolMax
- DryMax
- Perform equipment inspections to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Maintain shop machinery and assist with facility maintenance projects
- Perform basic electrical wiring and troubleshooting while following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Assist with crane, rigging, lifting equipment, and vacuum pump maintenance
- Read blueprints, drawings, and assembly instructions
- Support project installations while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety
- Lead moderately complex shop projects and help ensure project safety requirements are followed
- Provide occasional support for existing customer equipment when needed
- Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for company vehicle operation
- Support future field service projects as business needs grow
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Millwright or equivalent industrial maintenance experience
- Ability to safely perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Technical school or college coursework
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or willingness to obtain one
- MIG welding experience
- Industrial electrical experience
- OSHA 40-Hour Certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience with cranes, rigging, vacuum pumps, or industrial rotating equipment
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

- Mechanical assembly and repair

This position is primarily based in our manufacturing and production facility.
You should be comfortable working around:
- Industrial machinery
- Mechanical equipment
- Moderate noise
- Dust and non-toxic fumes
- Shop tools and fabrication equipment
As you gain experience, this position may include occasional travel and field service work supporting customer equipment and installations.
This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Physical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and climb
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Safely use hand and power tools
- Work around industrial equipment while following all safety procedures
