Job Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for oversight of daily operations of Baxter Health Inpatient Behavioral Health Units. Facilitates physician relations, staff development and team integration, and analyzes and implements business development opportunities. Provides leadership regarding physician and staff satisfaction, coordinates marketing with health system, and other assignments as needed.

BH COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Understands and adheres to BH’s standards as they appear in BH's intranet Healthstream Library.

Required to work with the Vice President, Physician Enterprise and Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer regularly to carryout, initiate and/or implement best practices for the Baxter Health Behavioral Health Service Line.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor Degree in Health Care Administration or a business field. Education and experience may be substituted (if applicable) for the required minimum job qualifications.

Experience: 3 years’ experience in a comparable position with leadership responsibilities in healthcare management. Experience should reflect a working knowledge of clinic and inpatient operations, business development, physician relations, human resources management, effective communication, financial and statistical analyses, and leadership expertise.

Other:

  • Demonstrates awareness of costs and utilization of clinic and inpatient resources
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently as well as function within a team, and to deal effectively with difficult situations.
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge in EMR (eClinicalWorks) a plus.
  • Demonstrates competence in management and leadership.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing and medical practice as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines for quality health care, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Successful candidate will possess strong work ethic; be well organized; possess financial analytical skills; marketing skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; general accounting skills; have the ability to reassess priorities; possess strong problem solving and decision making skills; and be able to handle a demanding position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Spend eight hours or more in front of a computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing a keyboard and/or mouse, daily. Ability to stand and walk, bend, squat and twist, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity, with or without correction. Must be able to work around frequent interruptions and handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure.

Work Environment:

Office setting, within a hospital/clinic environment

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a position in a hospital/clinic setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Office staff: 5 days a week, Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts

It may be necessary to perform some duties beyond regular work hours on mornings, evenings, and weekends. Additionally, it may be necessary to respond to calls after hours for direction/guidance.
