This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and operate mission-critical data infrastructure supporting advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities.

The Senior DataOps Engineer will own the design, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise data platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and compliance across cloud environments. This role combines data engineering expertise with infrastructure automation and platform ownership to deliver robust solutions in a regulated setting.
- Lead end-to-end migration of data workloads across cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud and Azure Government platforms, ensuring data integrity, security controls, and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using modern orchestration and transformation technologies, ensuring reliable data flows from ingestion through analytics consumption.
- Manage cloud data services, including storage, processing, identity, monitoring, and infrastructure resources, while optimizing performance and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation to automate provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows.
- Establish and enforce DataOps best practices, including source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and operational monitoring.
- Own Microsoft Fabric platform capabilities, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Notebooks, workspace governance, and security configuration.
- Develop enterprise data architectures, including lakehouse, warehouse, semantic models, and data mesh approaches to support analytical and operational use cases.
- Implement data quality, governance, metadata management, and lineage practices to ensure trusted and compliant data assets.
- Support security and compliance initiatives by maintaining controls aligned with NIST 800-171, DFARS, CUI, ITAR/EAR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations for complex data and infrastructure issues.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and governance materials to support operational consistency and compliance.
- Partner with data analysts, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
The ideal candidate is an experienced DataOps professional with strong expertise across cloud infrastructure, data engineering, automation, and security-conscious environments. They should be comfortable owning both data platforms and infrastructure operations while communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, DataOps, or related technical roles within cloud-first environments.
- Extensive experience migrating data workloads to or within AWS GovCloud, including services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Strong hands-on programming and automation skills using Python and/or PowerShell.
- Proven experience designing and operating enterprise data platforms from initial architecture through production deployment.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS Government environments and Azure Government services such as Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks, and ADLS Gen2.
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies, particularly Terraform and AWS CloudFormation; Ansible experience is a plus.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Kafka, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of enterprise data architecture patterns, including lakehouse architectures, star schemas, snowflake schemas, Data Vault 2.0, and semantic layer design.
- Experience implementing CI/CD workflows using platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes/AKS.
- Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, metadata management, and compliance-driven data handling.
- Ability to work with regulated data environments involving CUI, ITAR, EAR, NIST 800-171, or DFARS requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract eligibility and export compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Data Analytics, Terraform Associate, Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Data Engineer, dbt Developer, Security+, or similar credentials.

- Base salary range of $150,000 - $180,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and location.
