This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Epic HB/PB Application Architect based in the United States.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced Epic professional to provide technical leadership across Hospital Billing and Professional Billing applications.
You will serve as a subject-matter leader, guiding application teams and ensuring high-quality solutions for healthcare clients.
The role combines hands-on Epic expertise with consulting, mentoring, client engagement, and strategic problem-solving.
You will assess changes through an enterprise lens, considering upstream, downstream, and broader operational impacts.
Working closely with healthcare leaders and technical teams, you will translate complex requirements into practical, sustainable solutions.
The position offers a collaborative, autonomous environment where your expertise can directly influence client outcomes and engagement success.
This is a remote role with a typical Monday–Friday schedule and travel of up to 25% as needed.
- Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise for Epic Hospital Billing and Professional Billing applications, serving as a key resource for assigned application teams and clients.
- Oversee the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of application work products while ensuring solutions align with client and enterprise needs.
- Mentor application team members, provide guidance on technical and functional challenges, and support the ongoing development of team capabilities.
- Consult with clients and internal stakeholders to design solutions that account for upstream, downstream, and enterprise-wide impacts of system changes.
- Build strong relationships with healthcare leaders and professionals, communicating effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Support Epic implementation and application management initiatives, applying proven expertise to complex healthcare technology environments.
- Contribute to engagement strategy and help identify solutions that improve application performance, operational effectiveness, and client outcomes.
- Plan and manage project considerations such as budgets, timelines, communication, risks, and issues.
- Maintain accountability for the success and quality of assigned client engagements.
- Epic Hospital Billing (HB) certification is required.
- Epic Professional Billing (PB) certification is required.
- Proven experience managing or supporting Epic implementations in complex healthcare environments.
- Strong technical and functional knowledge of Epic applications, with the ability to evaluate system changes from both application-specific and enterprise perspectives.
- Ability to interact confidently and effectively with healthcare professionals and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Strong planning and organizational capabilities, including experience managing budgets, risks, issues, priorities, and communications.
- Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with a commitment to developing high-performing application teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop practical solutions while balancing client needs and broader system considerations.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as required.
- Ability to work a typical Monday–Friday schedule in a remote environment.
- Competitive annual salary of $130,000–$140,000, depending on skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
- Eligibility for an annual discretionary/performance bonus for salaried positions.
