AVP, Talent & Leadership Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AVP, Talent & Leadership Development based in United States.

This is a strategic talent leadership role focused on strengthening leadership capability, accelerating talent readiness, and supporting long-term business performance.
You’ll shape and deliver enterprise-wide leadership and development programs that help employees and leaders grow throughout their careers.
The role combines strategic consulting with hands-on program design, facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll use workforce data, skills intelligence, modern learning technologies, and AI-enabled solutions to create personalized development experiences.
Working closely with senior leaders, HR partners, and Talent Management colleagues, you’ll identify capability gaps and turn business priorities into practical development strategies.
You’ll also contribute to succession planning, high-potential development, career growth, performance enablement, and broader organizational capability initiatives.
This is an opportunity to influence talent strategy at scale while continuously innovating how leadership development is delivered and measured.

Accountabilities
  • Leadership development: Design, deliver, and continuously improve enterprise-wide leadership development programs and learning experiences that strengthen leadership capabilities at all levels.
  • Talent strategy: Use skills intelligence, workforce data, and talent insights to develop skills-based strategies supporting career development, internal mobility, high-potential talent, and leadership growth.
  • Business partnership: Consult with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and key stakeholders to understand business priorities and capability gaps and translate them into practical talent solutions.
  • Learning innovation: Leverage modern learning technologies, AI-enabled tools, and skills-based practices to create engaging, blended, and personalized development experiences.
  • Program facilitation: Facilitate leadership, high-potential, and professional development experiences while coaching internal facilitators and subject matter experts to expand program reach and consistency.
  • Assessment and coaching: Partner with external providers and vendors to deliver leadership assessments, including 360-degree feedback, coaching programs, and other development solutions.
  • Measurement and insights: Establish meaningful measures of program effectiveness, analyze feedback and talent data, and communicate outcomes and business impact to leadership.
  • Executive communication: Develop compelling leadership presentations, talent insights, and recommendations that clearly demonstrate development outcomes and organizational value.
  • Broader talent initiatives: Contribute to succession planning, career development, performance enablement, employee engagement, and organizational capability-building initiatives.
  • Continuous improvement: Stay current with emerging leadership, talent, learning, and technology trends and introduce innovative practices that improve the employee development experience.
Requirements
  • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Talent expertise: Demonstrated experience in leadership development, talent management, learning and development, organizational development, or a closely related field.
  • Industry experience: Background in financial services, real estate, mortgage, consulting, or another highly regulated environment is preferred.
  • Leadership programs: Proven experience designing and facilitating comprehensive 6–12 month leadership, high-potential, or professional development programs.
  • Assessment expertise: Experience using leadership and behavioral assessment tools such as Hogan, Korn Ferry, DISC, CliftonStrengths, Predictive Index, Culture Index, MBTI, or similar instruments.
  • Talent technology: Familiarity with Workday or comparable talent management and learning platforms; experience with skills intelligence, employee listening, or AI-enabled learning technologies is valuable.
  • Learning design: Experience with tools such as Articulate 360, Canva, Vyond, Camtasia, or similar learning and content-development platforms.
  • Data-driven approach: Ability to use talent data and insights to evaluate program effectiveness, inform decisions, and demonstrate measurable business impact.
  • Leadership experience: Experience leading teams and enterprise-wide talent initiatives, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies.
  • Facilitation and coaching: Strong facilitation, coaching, consulting, and stakeholder management capabilities, with confidence working with senior leaders.
  • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex talent concepts into clear business recommendations.
  • Collaboration and autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently while building effective partnerships across teams, functions, and geographic locations.
  • Innovation mindset: Comfortable exploring emerging technologies and AI-powered solutions and applying them thoughtfully to improve talent and leadership development.
Benefits
  • Salary: Annual full-time base salary range of $80,000–$95,000, with actual compensation based on relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location, and market considerations.
  • Bonus opportunity: Certain positions may be eligible for discretionary bonus compensation based on applicable program guidelines and eligibility.
