Student Employee - Student Support Services in Student Employment, Kansas at Barton Community College

Position Description: The student employee is responsible for completing all duties and tasks that are assigned to them. This position is 100% grant funded and is contingent on continued grant funding. Position Responsibilities: 55.00% - Perform general office duties, including but not limited to; filing, shredding, data entry, answering the phones, making student files, copying, mailing out material, record keeping. 5.00% - Provide office coverage during department or campus meeting and/or events 25.00% - Create and distribute flyers for department events 10.00% - Provide on-site customer service; answering questions, directing visitors and/or students 5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned Expectations: Understand and maintain strict confidentiality Be detail oriented, have a good work ethic and pleasant attitude and be willing to learn Be dependable, reliable and punctual. Student will contact supervisor when they are unable to work due to illness, class priorities, athletics, or other approved absences Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Filing skills, work with computer programs, and keyboarding skills Education - Enrolled in applicable Barton credit hours during the fall and spring semesters Other skills - Be a self-starter, and be willing to ask questions when needed Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
