Job Description
We are seeking a VP Brand Marketing who will be responsible for leading the vision, development, and execution of transformative brand marketing that fuels growth, builds brand equity, and keeps Jack in the Box at the center of culture. This role drives the creation of bold, breakthrough ideas and integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels, including media, social, public relations, influencer marketing, and experiential activations. Partnering closely with internal teams and agency partners, this leader ensures every communication reflects Jack's distinctive voice, pushes creative boundaries, and delivers measurable business results.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications Leadership & Strategy
Partners with executive leaders to translate brand strategy into integrated communications plans that drive business objectives and strengthen brand equity across paid, owned, and earned channels.
Leads the planning and execution of communications initiatives across paid media, paid social, organic social, public relations, influencer partnerships, experiential activations, and other consumer-facing communication channels.
Serves as the strategic communications lead, ensuring all consumer-facing communications are aligned with brand objectives, campaign priorities, and business goals.
Maintains a deep understanding of consumer trends, media behavior, cultural insights, and emerging communications opportunities to keep the brand relevant and differentiated.
Integrated Agency Management
Oversees and leads the Company's Integrated Agency Team, providing strategic direction, establishing ways of working, and ensuring seamless collaboration among agency partners and internal stakeholders.
Directs the end-to-end creative development process, including brief development, creative evaluation, feedback management, approvals, production oversight, and final execution.
Ensures all agency partners operate cohesively, delivering integrated campaigns and communications that maximize effectiveness across paid, owned, and earned channels.
Establishes clear performance expectations for agency partners and evaluates agency effectiveness, collaboration, and contribution to business results.
Creative Leadership
Oversees the development and execution of all communications and creative assets to ensure consistency with brand positioning, voice, and objectives.
Collaborates with agencies and internal stakeholders in the ideation, development, and execution of advertising and communications campaigns.
Reviews and approves creative concepts, messaging, copy, and communications materials to ensure alignment with brand standards and strategic objectives.
Oversees production processes including photo shoots, video content, broadcast elements, social content, publicity assets, influencer content, and related communications materials.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partners closely with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Strategic Insights and Executive Leadership teams to align communications priorities and ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
Provides communications guidance and support to the Franchise community, ensuring brand messaging and communications strategies are understood and effectively executed.
Builds strong relationships across functions and fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Performance Management & Budget Ownership
Monitors and evaluates communications effectiveness across campaigns and channels, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and impact.
Oversees communications and agency budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and investments deliver measurable business outcomes.
Develops and oversees annual budgets for areas of responsibility, monitors operating results, and addresses variances as necessary.
Drives a culture of testing, learning, innovation, and continuous optimization across communications programs and agency partnerships.
Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration or related field; MBA preferred.
Experience – 10+ years strategic marketing communications experience, including a minimum of 4-5 years advertising
experience required; experience preferably in the Restaurant, Consumer Products or Retail industry. Experience with a
multi-unit and franchise concept highly desired.

Physical Requirements – Ability to work from the corporate office located in San Diego, CA 4 days/week. Ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone. Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other technology devices. Ability to travel approximately 20-25% of time as business needs require.

The range for this position is $250,000 - $370,000 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we may apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
