The Position: Building Tech II
Full-time position with Benefits Pay Grade 5
Salary: $19.00 -$27.87 per hour commensurate with experience

General Purpose:
Engages in maintaining and repairing of physical structures of buildings and grounds by performing the duties listed below.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
• Paint interior and exterior walls of buildings throughout the District, to include benches, planters, trim work, as associated with these buildings
• Repair parking lots and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching material and concrete in the RV compound
• Repair sidewalks, fences, traffic and information signs throughout the District
• Perform minor electrical repairs within the buildings on properties to include changing light bulbs and tubes. The scope of this work will be determined by the supervisor to stay within good safety practices
• Perform minor plumbing duties such as clogged drains, toilet mechanisms, swimming pool pipe and valve repairs, showers and vanity faucets, and minor irrigation repairs
• Minor carpentry and roof repairs on all District structures.
• Maintain and repair District buildings
• Assist other Building technicians

Experience/Qualifications:
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a command of the English language (reading, writing, and speaking) and ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
