Receptionist in Lawrence, Massachusetts at Merrimack Health

Serves as the primary front desk point of contact for patients, families, and visitors entering the hospital main lobby or calling main telephone lines. Delivers customer service by welcoming guests, providing accurate hospital information, performing authorized patient location lookups, assisting with appointment wayfinding, managing front desk phones, and offering wheelchair transport or escort assistance. Ensures a safe, welcoming, and efficient entry point for all guests.

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of customer service, front desk reception, or public-facing experience.
• Strong interpersonal, active listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, Word, and data entry.
• Experience operating multi-line telephone systems

Preferred:

• Associate degree.
• Prior experience working in a healthcare or hospital main lobby setting.
• Basic familiarity using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software (e.g., MEDITECH) for patient lookup and navigation.
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese).
• Strong interpersonal, active listening, and verbal communication skills.
