# Electrical Controls Engineer - PLC / Industrial Automation **Honey Brook, PA** **$110,000–$120,000 per year** **Full-Time | On-Site** Achilles is recruiting an experienced **Electrical Controls Engineer** for a manufacturer of highly engineered process equipment. This role owns electrical and controls work across the full product lifecycle, including PLC programming, electrical design, testing, validation, commissioning, troubleshooting, product improvements, and technical support. The right person will be comfortable going well beyond writing PLC code. You should understand how electrical controls, instrumentation, pneumatics, software, machine hardware, documentation, and customer requirements come together in a complete industrial system. ## What Youll Do - Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based control systems - Program and troubleshoot industrial PLC and HMI platforms - Own electrical and controls design for engineered equipment - Maintain electrical drawings and controls documentation - Select controls hardware, instrumentation, and electrical components - Support new-product development and engineering changes - Lead controls-related upgrades and equipment improvement projects - Troubleshoot complex electrical and controls problems and perform root-cause analysis - Support factory testing, validation, startup, and commissioning - Create and maintain controls documentation including system specifications, test protocols, FAT documentation, and manuals - Work with quality and regulatory teams to ensure systems meet applicable requirements - Provide technical support to service teams and customers - Support field startup, troubleshooting, testing, and training as needed ## What Were Looking For - Strong industrial PLC programming experience - Proficiency with ladder logic - Strong experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controls, including RSLogix 500 and 5000 - Ability to read and work from P&IDs and process diagrams - Strong understanding of electrical and controls wiring diagrams - Understanding of pneumatic controls - Experience programming HMIs such as PanelView / PanelView+ - Industrial communication and controls-networking experience - AutoCAD experience - Strong troubleshooting and technical documentation skills - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with relevant experience ## Helpful Experience - CompactLogix or MicroLogix - Mitsubishi or other industrial PLC platforms - Proface HMIs - Servo systems - NEC and NFPA 79 - FAT / commissioning - cGMP validation or regulated manufacturing - Process equipment, pharmaceutical equipment, sterilization systems, or other engineered machinery This position is based on-site in Honey Brook, PA. Some travel may be required for commissioning, testing, and technical support.
