About DSC
DSC Dredge designs and manufactures dredging equipment used on projects around the world, with headquarters in Reserve, LA and a manufacturing facility in Poplarville, MS. Our Product Support Services team is the link between what we build and how it performs in the field — installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment on-site so customers can keep dredging.
The Role
The Product Support Technician provides hands-on installation, repair, and preventive maintenance support for DSC dredging equipment in the field, typically working alongside or under the direction of a Product Support Specialist or supervisor. This role follows established procedures, manuals, and checklists rather than working independently on complex or non-routine issues, and is the entry point into DSC's Product Support career path — building toward the Product Support Specialist role as skills and experience grow.
What You Will Do
- Performs on-site installation and repair of dredging and support equipment, working alongside or under the direction of a Product Support Specialist or supervisor.
- Troubleshoots and repairs standard electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using established procedures, manuals, and schematics.
- Performs preventive maintenance on DSC equipment according to documented schedules and checklists.
- Assists with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment at customer sites.
- Completes field service reports, maintenance logs, and required compliance documentation for each assignment.
- Follows all DSC, OSHA, and MSHA safety procedures; identifies and reports hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Supports customer training sessions led by a Specialist or supervisor.
- Escalates non-routine or complex technical issues to a Product Support Specialist or Engineering.
What You Will Bring
- High school diploma or GED required; a technical/trade school certificate in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems is a plus.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic systems, or equivalent training
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Valid driver's license, with the flexibility to travel 100% of the time, primarily domestic
- Comfortable working in a field environment: outdoors, around heavy machinery, in varying weather.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn the DSC product line.

Work Environment
This role is performed primarily at customer job sites rather than in an office. Employees regularly work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment, and are exposed to loud noise, vibration, and risk of electrical shock. The role requires standing, walking, climbing, and lifting equipment and tools consistent with field service work; reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
