Position Summary:
The College of Education &Human Sciences (COEHS) seeks applicants for a Program Coordinator to supportthe Native American Teacher Preparation Program under the Institute forAmerican Indian Education (IAIE). IAIE's mission is to support community intergenerationalwell-being and educational outcomes of Indigenous Peoples by cultivating thequality of educational professionals through community engagement with NativeNations and collaborative partnerships with educational stakeholders. Under the supervision of theDirector of IAIE, this position will perform a variety of administrativesupport, including; fiscal, staff support, and planning activities, some ofwhich require advanced or specialized knowledge and skills, such as budgetadministration and control, equipment, facilities, and inventory management,specialized recordkeeping and database management, and/or specifiedinformation-gathering projects and tasks. This position will coordinate andfacilitates meetings for the NATPP, program functions, and/or special events,as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate experience working with Indigenous communities in New Mexico.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events specifically related to Indigenous serving communities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data to assist with grant proposal writing and budget building
  • Must be willing to meet requirements to obtain and use a UNM PCard for NATPP expenses.
