This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Manager based in India.
This role is responsible for driving sales growth and business development across an assigned territory.
You will build and expand a portfolio of B2B customers while strengthening relationships with existing accounts.
The position combines new business development, account management, customer engagement, and commercial execution.
You will work closely with dealers and other key stakeholders to develop opportunities and support the sales process.
The role also involves providing product and technical guidance to major accounts and ensuring a high level of customer service.
You will monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends to identify opportunities and inform commercial decisions.
This is a permanent, full-time position suited to an experienced sales professional with a strong background in industrial or capital equipment markets.
- Achieve sales, revenue, and business development targets within the assigned territory.
- Identify, qualify, pursue, and develop new customer accounts to expand the business.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers through effective account management and regular engagement.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, dealers, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify customer needs and translate them into appropriate product and commercial opportunities.
- Prepare quotations and coordinate with dealership partners throughout the sales process.
- Provide product information and technical support to major account customers as required.
- Manage customer accounts proactively, ensuring high standards of service, responsiveness, and satisfaction.
- Develop opportunities throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing movements, market developments, and customer trends within the territory.
- Use market and customer insights to identify new business opportunities and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of customer requirements and commercial activities.
- Graduate or diploma holder in any discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within material handling equipment, capital equipment, industrial equipment, or a related sector.
- Proven experience in business development, territory management, and strategic account management.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and convert new business opportunities while retaining and expanding existing accounts.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of B2B sales cycles and customer decision-making processes.
- Experience building productive relationships with customers, dealers, distributors, and other business stakeholders.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and communicate product or technical information effectively.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, influencing, and communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service and long-term relationship building.
- Analytical approach and ability to monitor competitors, pricing, and market trends.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing a territory independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required to support customers, dealers, and business development activities.
