Job Description

Staff Product Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Product Engineer based in United States.

As a Staff Product Engineer, you will help build sophisticated AI-powered video creation and collaboration products at the intersection of software engineering, generative AI, and creative technology. You will work across the full stack, from rich browser-based interfaces to backend systems and APIs that power advanced generative capabilities. The role combines product thinking, technical depth, and rapid experimentation in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. You will develop experiences powered by large language models (LLMs), computer vision, and generative AI models while solving complex challenges across the frontend stack. Working closely with experienced engineers, you will help push the boundaries of what is possible in browser-based creative tools. You will also contribute to improving performance, reliability, and code quality across production systems.

Accountabilities
  • Build rich multimedia interfaces that leverage the latest AI video generation capabilities.
  • Develop end-to-end, full-stack product features, including frontend experiences, backend systems, server-side processes, and application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Design and implement large language model (LLM)-powered features, conversational interfaces, and AI-driven product experiences.
  • Work across the frontend stack to deliver product capabilities for machine learning-based generative AI tools.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional partners to solve complex product and technical challenges.
  • Rapidly prototype new ideas, evaluate solutions, and iterate quickly in response to product requirements and deadlines.
  • Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, and code quality of production codebases.
  • Contribute to technical architecture and engineering decisions for AI-powered creative and collaboration experiences.
  • Work with technologies including TypeScript, React, Node.js, MediaBunny, React Flow, and containerized services deployed through Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with a strong full-stack focus.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, including JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated experience building products and features using third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) APIs, such as chatbots or large language model integrations.
  • Experience designing and architecting production-ready software systems.
  • Familiarity with debugging, profiling, performance optimization, and reliability practices.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, experiment, and iterate on solutions while working against tight product timelines.
  • Strong product orientation and curiosity, with the ability to work across different areas of the technology stack rather than remaining limited to a single specialization.
  • Thoughtful and pragmatic problem-solving approach, with a willingness to take ownership of complex and ambiguous challenges.
  • Humility and open-mindedness, with a strong ability to learn from colleagues and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
Benefits
  • Base salary of $240,000–$290,000 USD for candidates in the United States.
  • Equity as part of the overall compensation package.
  • Compensation determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions, and internal equity.
  • Remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on advanced generative AI, video creation, and creative collaboration technologies.
  • Opportunity to contribute to ambitious projects involving large language models, computer vision, and world-model research.
  • Inclusive environment committed to equal opportunity and supporting employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • High-ownership culture with opportunities to build new products and technologies from the ground up.
